Fional is a University of Galway graduate with over 30 years' experience in business and academic environments. Previous positions in industry include Covidien and Nortel Networks (now Avia) before taking on a role in NUIG 18 years ago supporting industry and academia in knowledge transfer and start up activities.
Extensive experience in the start-up space, a coach and mentor to the entrepreneurial community on campus delivering commercialisation road maps of new business ideas, business & financial strategy. Deliver comprehensive training, commercialisation and business development support to 100+ companies to date based in the University Business Innovation Centre. Fiona has demonstrated strong links with funding bodies and grant aid Uopportunities with a strong network in the ecosystem. Co-Founder and Commercial Lead on the 1st Dedicated Med Tech Accelerator in Ireland, BioExel.
