Marie Laffey
Marie Laffey, Head of the Career Development Centre, University of Galway
Marie is currently serving as the Head of the Career Development Centre in the University of Galway since March 2021 and leads a team of 24 career professional to deliver a high-quality service to support 18,000 students in the University of Galway. She is a qualified Coach and Careers Consultant with a MSc in Adult Guidance, Postgraduate in Executive Leadership, BSc in Education and Training and a BSc in Computer Science. Marie is responsible for the strategic and operational functions of the Career Development Centre supporting guidance, employability and opportunities for students.
Marie has 15 years' experience in the ICT sector and brings a wealth of knowledge managing and development of large multi-location team in United States, Ireland, China and India. She is an advocate for equality and inclusion and has won both national and international awards for supporting students with disabilities transitioning into the workplace.
